Tribute to Rev. Ayodeji Cole: “I Don’t Know Why”

“I Don’t Know Why”, was the title of his last sermon delivered at TREM Abeokuta on Sunday, 27th September, 2009 while visiting the SouthWest. This morning, I pulled the CD out of my archive and listened over and over again to a message strong on God’s Sovereignty and Mercy.

Rev. Cole’s theology was clear, quoting copiously from the Holy Scripture, “God cannot be questioned”. He said emphatically backing it up with more verses of the Scripture. “The only one that can question God is the one that existed before Him”.

Speaking further, “God has a right to do whatever He wants to do without being questioned.” “God is always and absolutely right. God can never be wrong.” “God does not have to explain Himself to anyone.” According to the Abuja based Pastor of TREM, “The sovereignty of God gives Him exclusive right to do as He pleases.”

He ended that sermon with emphasis on God’s mercy.

You will be missed Rev. Cole, for being a minister of the word that you are…were. You will be missed for being a pillar in the world of TREM. You will be missed by all and sundry.

Lord and Comforter, please comfort TREM, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, and the entire Bishopric. Comfort Bishop Reuben Olu Oke, Rev. Ugochukwu Ugarly, Rev. Segun Ayorinde…O Comforter!

O death where is your sting…o DANA plane where is your pain…
